Behind The Scenes

Last night I was asked to come and watch and take photos of a film being made. It was cool to see how a production crew works together to make stuff happen, an up close experience of a film. The scene that was being made was a fight scenes, so it was cool to see how that all works and the planning and making sure it all goes well. Shooting BTS as its called was something on the list of things I want to shoot and it was accomplished last night, hopefully there are more opportunities like this one soon it was fun. The Production team is AMCREATIVE NYC.

These are just a few of the shots.

AfterNoon Walk

I had a meeting with someone and then we went to Kingston to do a downtown mural walk. Finding all the murals on the map. Here are the photos I took while in Kingston  walking around. To me Kingston feels like a mini NYC because of the streets, graffiti and also the restaurants and shops. It was fun trying to find the art work. The lips on top of the building were the hardest to find because you have to look up to find them and there on the side of the building not out in front. One of the photos is also interesting to point out because it says "storm photo" that made me think of that lightning shot I took.

Heres is a link to the tour map.

First 2017 Show

My first show of the year is at the Chatham Grill. Its a group show with other local photographers. I had a group show there with the same group of people last year. It will be up for the Whole month of August

Hike #11

Went to Beebee Hill Austerlitz, NY during a very nice day. I have been here once before with a friend but on a windy day. Locals also call it the fire tower because once you climb the mountain there is a fire tower you can climb. If you ever go up on a windy day you will see the tower move and its kinda scary. You do get a nice breeze when you are in the tower with graffiti every where.

The 360 view is beautiful and amazing. You can see Albany from up there. The trail to get to the top is a little tricky because its a lot of up hill and some parts are steep. There are also of trails you can walk and or bike and even unicycle. Beebee hill and Harvey Mountain can be grouped together because there connected by crossing the road. There is a big pond you can fish in and I have heard there are wild berries you can pick on some of the trails. If you like hiking and views I would definitely go here. I have flown around the fire tower in the fall and all the colors its even more cool. When you park near the big pond theres a small old cemetery. Stay on the marked trails, lots of woods easy to get lost.

Hike #10

This is the Bird Sanctuary in Old Chatham. This is a definitely a hike just like hike #9. Its kinda hard to find, theres a sign that says private land next the to park's sign but thats where you can park or park near the Powell house and walk up. This is not part of the Land Conservancy program just a park thats owned by the Powell house. This is a no dog park and my guess why its because its kinda tricky in some areas and not picking up after the dog. There are some areas of the hike that are a little tricky and there is muddy.

There are 2 look out points one is the best and ones a small part. When you are up there its all rock and a steep fall so don't get to close. This is definitely a Columbia County view to see, I may go back up in the fall to see all the colors. Theres definitely a great place to walk around there are lots of trails or just go for the view. some of the trails are not the greatest but easy to follow and walk over things.

There is a pond near the parking lot where you can bird watch behind a "blind". You have to go past the pavilion and there it is, its pretty cool.  I did not go around the pond and to got to the pond there is a road entrance as well that I saw. So if you like bird watching It would be a cool spot to check out.
