Rumor has it there was 4-5000 people at the march this year. It's crazy to see a small comunity of people with that big of a group to come together under one main purpose. Lots of creative signs and people of all kind and ages. 

First Fun Day of 2018

Today I got a text from one of my good photography friends who I have not hung out with in a while. He wanted to hang out and go to a park. So we thought that the bird sanctuary would not be plowed well since of the location of where it is. But in fact it was nicely done. Before we headed in the direction we walked around town and talked and had lunch. On our way to the park he showed me a cool spot I wanted to go to, a small car grave which was pretty cool. Then we went to the bird sanctuary ( one of my favorite places). I showed him the pond which is behind the parking lot and then we went to the look out. He brought his drone and I took some photos. It was cool to see that spot from the air and cool to watch how drones work and such. He wanted to fly the drone and get some clips of the pond, so we walked back over there . As we were walking over to the spot to put are bags down. I thought lets see if you can walk on the pond not worrying about the fact that it could crack .Josh was the smart one and stayed on top as i walked on the pond. "Zach jump" I did and it did not crack at all. The pond must have been deeply frozen and a thick layer of snow. He wanted to get a shot for his website ( click here) and I thought of the idea of me running out on the pond as the drone followed me for a cool video. I had a good time because of the fact I never been on a frozen pond before and going up to things that could only be taken with a zoom lens. After we had our fun there we went back to my house and he let me fly the drone and take some photos and practice for when I get a drone.

What are your photography goals for 2018?

I have a few things I want to do that I have in my head and that I have wanted to do for some time now that I would love to do this year. I also want to make more with my photos such as books and prints. I want to have shows in diffrent places this year. Work with more people as well as meeting other photographers around the area. Those are some of the bigger photography goals I want to do this year.

What are your life goals for 2018?

I want to be a go and hike more then last year and explore and fine new and cool places. Bettering who I am as a person and learning to relax more when I get nervous. Learning and growing more and diffrent skills is something else I want to do as well. Finding people to do things with and making new connections. Those are just some of the goals I would like to work on this year.

William Eggleston 

He was born in 1939 and is still alive at 78

When he was younger he would play around with the piano, drawing and electronics. School was hard for him because he did not fit in.

He was one of the pioneers of color photography. (colorist).

After high school he jumped around to 3 diffrent colleges and never got his degree. but at college he discovered photography. His friend gave his a Leica. Then he went to art school and studied abstract expressionism.

He taught of Harvard for a year and discovered a new paper type called dry transfer paper.

The MOMA did show color photographs before but Egglestons show in 1976 changed that. At the MOMA is where he became friends with Andy Warhol which gave him a lot of help.

75th Birthday

This was the last event of 2017 and was a lot of fun. The same person I did my first headshot for was the same person who hired me to do my only big event of the year. I knew a few people at the party which is always a plus. It was also my first time shooting and going to Helsinki, which was cool to see the inside. 

I use my Sony more then the canon. I use the canon for studio work or if a longer lens needs to be used. It was a dark room so I brought a flash and having a camera which shoots great in lowlight was very helpful.
