I know its kind of hard to see but a bird left his mark on the window and did not fall, must have flew away. But the wing span and body are "printed on the glass .
Rebrand Online
I have decided to change things up and start over with my online presents. From new accounts to changing passwords and trying something new with how I use the platforms. I have had multiple accounts on things like Youtube and Instagram.... The reason behind this is to clean things up a bit and to have a more professional and nicer looking online presence. My website and logos and other things will still be the same and will not change at this moment but may in the future.
I have only had one Facebook account and last year I tried making a backup account and for some reason it was disabled. So I am planning on deleting the one I have now and making a whole new account which will be used differently. I also want to see if this will help have more engagement since I am starting over. I am not sure yet how I plan on restarting FB but it will happen.
I would like to just use my website because its the most organized and its professional and maybe I will just keep my website and do very little social media or maybe I will try things and see what works. I update my website more and like to have control over the look and feel of the site and like making blog posts and adding new photos and features to my site. Another reason I want to quit social media is because I want to create more and not focus on getting people to see my work, there’s people out there who are doing the best marketing there is for me and people like me (word of mouth) I have a website where everything is nicely organized and easy to use. I know I said above that I don’t care about likes and comments but we are always checking the notifications. At the end of the day a notification does not pay you anything besides the good chemical in your body.
I am going to delete FB and will make a new one for the reason to share photos and to see events and photography/creative/business/life opportunities. No more political posts,no more sharing of links as much. Using FB as a tool and not as a consumer per say. I want to start from scratch. I will most likely still use Instagram and definitely my website, so check those often for updates.
Valatie Bar & Grill Show
I was asked to have a solo show at the Valatie Bar and Grill by someone I know who works there and was going to have it be march but I was having my Rhinebeck show that month and would have had nothing to show so I asked for April. This is my 3rd month in a row with a show lets see what May brings.
HAPPY EASTER
I updated my website with a new series and new photographs in most of my series.
On Friday me and my photographer friend went to Rhinebeck to pick up my framed art work it rained a lot on the way there and light rain on/off through out the day. After taking the photographs down we went into town and explored and also had pizza. I have not really explored Rhinebeck besides the stores on the main strip. On our way to the car I saw a self phone sitting on a bench and brought it into the closes store and told them I found this and if the person comes back for it. Then we went to the the Holy Cow for some Ice cream. Then went into Red Hook and walked around there and took some photos and explored because we have never been before. On our way home we pulled over because there there was a cool abandon garage, there were others on our journey but there was precious cargo (framed photographs. We had to stop at my dad's store to drop off a few frames and we walked around Hudson and hung out there for a little.
Here are a few of the shots I took from each town.
Famous Photographer #8
Diane Arbus
Born 1923 and Died 1971
Her and her husband owned a studio in NYC shooting for big name fashion companies. She was more of the art director and he was the photographer. I was a little shocked when I heard she did fashion because when I think of her I think of the old school circus.
Her husband gifted her a camera when they got married. Her husband was a photographer for the US army in WW2.
She started shooting in the late 50's a little fashion but mostly her own stuff. As she was shooting she did learn more about photography from other professionals.
She is known for her street portraits of people who people would look away from. She did build relationships with some of the people she photographed and that helped her go to places and photograph diffrent people like the circus.
